I Work from the Moment I Wake Up Till I Go to Bed: Nvidia CEO Huang

Jensen Huang, the co-founder and CEO of Nvidia, has ascended to the ranks of the world's wealthiest individuals, becoming the 13th richest person with a staggering fortune of 106 billion USD.

This meteoric rise is largely attributed to the impressive surge in Nvidia shares, which have increased over 700% in the past year.

Amidst this remarkable success, Huang shared insights into his rigorous daily routine and work ethic during a conversation with Stripe CEO Patrick Collison.

Huang’s commitment to his work is unparalleled. He describes his routine as relentless, working from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed, seven days a week.

Even during rare moments when he is not actively working, his mind is still focused on work.

"I work from the moment I wake up to the moment when I go to bed, and I work seven days a week. When I’m not working, I’m thinking about working. And when I’m working, I’m working," he stated.

This unyielding dedication comes at a time when Huang has seen his net worth soar by approximately 93 billion USD in just 18 months.

Nvidia’s stock has skyrocketed from below $150 to more than $1,200, positioning the AI chipmaker as a dominant force in the tech industry.

Despite his intense work schedule, Huang manages to maintain a daily routine that includes a moment of tranquility.

He wakes up at 5 am but prefers to stay in bed reading until 6 am to avoid disturbing his dogs.

He shared, “I used to wake up at 5 (am), but these days, I wake up at 6 (am) because of my dogs... I don't mind waking anybody up, but I feel guilty when I wake the puppies up.”

Huang’s perspective on work and happiness is notably pragmatic.

He challenges the notion that the best jobs are those that bring constant happiness.

Instead, he emphasizes the challenges and difficulties inherent in building something great.

"When you want to build something great, it's not easy to do and when you are doing something that's not easy to do, you're not always enjoying it. I don't love everyday of my job, not everyday brings me joy; nor does joy have to be the definition of a good day... but I love the company every single second," he explained.

This mindset has evidently fueled his relentless drive and success.

Huang’s journey with Nvidia, from its inception to its current status as a leader in AI and chipmaking, is a testament to his unwavering commitment and vision.

His story is an inspiration to many, highlighting the importance of dedication, hard work, and a deep passion for one's company and goals.

As Nvidia continues to innovate and lead in the tech industry, Jensen Huang’s example serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with relentless effort and an unwavering focus on one's mission.

His work ethic and approach to success are lessons not just for aspiring entrepreneurs but for anyone looking to make a significant impact in their field.
