India Contributed $1 Million to Continue Promotion of Hindi Language at UN
The Government of India has made a significant contribution of $1,169,746 to the 'Hindi @ UN' project, reaffirming its commitment to promoting the Hindi language within the United Nations. This substantial funding aims to expand the use of Hindi in the UN and enhance the organization’s public outreach to Hindi-speaking audiences around the world. Launched in 2018, the 'Hindi @ UN' project is a collaborative initiative between India and the UN Department of Public Information. Its primary objective is to increase awareness about global issues among millions of Hindi-speaking people by providing UN news and multimedia content in Hindi. This initiative reflects India's continuous efforts to integrate Hindi into the global communication landscape. Since the project's inception, India has been partnering with the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC), providing extra-budgetary contributions to support the mainstreaming and consolidation of UN content in Hin
