Design of India' Own Space Station Is Ready: Aim to Launch in 2028
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced significant advancements in its space exploration initiatives, including the development of the Indian Space Station (ISS). ISRO Chairman S Somnath recently revealed that the design phase for the ISS is complete and preparations are underway for its launch by 2028. Chairman S Somnath highlighted the progress of the Gaganyaan programme, which aims to demonstrate India's capability for human spaceflight. The mission involves sending a crew of three members to an orbit of 400 kilometers for a three-day mission, followed by their safe return to Earth. The chairman mentioned that rigorous scrutiny by an independent committee is ongoing to ensure the mission's safety and success.
