UAE Welcomes 18th Group of Wounded Palestinian Children and Cancer Patients

In a heartening display of compassion and solidarity, the UAE has welcomed the 18th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients from the Gaza Strip.

This initiative aligns with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has committed to providing medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza at UAE hospitals.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the UAE's steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.

Al Shamsi emphasized that the UAE's efforts to provide comprehensive medical treatment and healthcare aim to alleviate the severe humanitarian suffering faced by those in Gaza, particularly in light of the complete collapse of health services in the region.

The leadership’s directive to extend all possible support in the healthcare sector reflects a deep-rooted commitment to humanitarian values and a proactive stance in addressing the dire needs of those affected by conflict and disease.

The UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the people of Gaza underscore its dedication to fostering stability and improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations.

The smooth transfer of the wounded and patients was facilitated by the cooperation and support of the authorities in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Egyptian officials and teams played a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of the group from Al Arish International Airport to the Zayed International Airport aboard an Etihad Airways flight.

The immediate medical care provided upon their arrival reflects the UAE's readiness and capability to deliver critical health services swiftly and effectively.

Upon landing in the UAE, the children and patients were promptly transferred to hospitals where specialized medical teams began their treatment.

This prompt response is vital for those requiring urgent medical attention and underscores the UAE’s preparedness and advanced healthcare infrastructure.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the UAE to support the Palestinian people across various levels.

The UAE’s humanitarian initiatives extend beyond healthcare, encompassing educational, economic, and social support to enhance the resilience and well-being of the Palestinian community.

The UAE’s response to the ongoing humanitarian conditions in Gaza is a testament to its enduring commitment to humanitarian principles and regional solidarity.

The arrival of the 18th group of children and patients marks a significant milestone in the UAE’s ongoing mission to provide aid and relief to Gaza.

As these efforts continue, the UAE remains a beacon of hope and a vital source of support for the Palestinian people during these challenging times.
