PM Modi’s visit to Austria marks a milestone, as he is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in 41 years. 

Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, setting the stage for a series of engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.

During his visit, PM Modi met with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, where the two leaders discussed enhancing political and economic cooperation between India and Austria. 

Chancellor Nehammer emphasized the strong friendship and partnership between the two nations, expressing optimism about future collaborations.

In a gesture of camaraderie, Chancellor Nehammer shared a selfie with PM Modi on social media, underscoring the warmth of their meeting. 

PM Modi reciprocated, affirming the robustness of India-Austria relations and expressing confidence in their continued growth.

The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Austria, providing an opportune moment to bolster mutual ties across various sectors. 

Discussions during the visit are expected to explore avenues for deeper cooperation on geopolitical challenges and economic opportunities.

PM Modi’s itinerary includes engagements with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and addressing business leaders from both countries.
