Rapper Drake Won £715,000 from Bet on India Winning Against Pakistan in T20 World Cup

International music artist Drake has once again proven his knack for betting, this time striking gold in the world of cricket. 

The rapper recently pocketed a whopping £715,000 (approximately Rs 7.58 crore INR) from a bet he placed on the India vs. Pakistan match during the T20 World Cup. 

The thrilling match concluded with India securing a narrow victory by six runs, much to the delight of Indian fans and, evidently, Drake.

Drake, known for his affinity for high-stakes bets, took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend to reveal his confidence in the Indian cricket team. 

He disclosed that he had placed a hefty bet of Rs 5.4 crores on India to win. 

His gamble paid off spectacularly, as reported by the UK publication Mirror, which detailed the financial windfall he enjoyed following the match. 

Of the £715,000 he won, £204,000 (Rs 2.16 crore) was pure profit.

For those unfamiliar with the specifics of the match, India faced off against Pakistan in what was their second match of the tournament. 

Batting first, India struggled to set a formidable target, managing only 119 runs before being bowled out within 19 overs. 

Pakistan's chase started strongly, causing considerable concern among Indian supporters. 

However, Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya turned the game around. 

Bumrah's stellar performance saw him take three wickets while conceding just 14 runs, and Pandya supported with two wickets for 24 runs, leading India to a hard-fought victory.

This is not the first time Drake has dabbled in cricket betting. 

His recent success with the India vs. Pakistan match came hot on the heels of another profitable wager on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League. 

According to Mashable India, Drake had bet $250,000 on Shah Rukh Khan’s team, earning him over Rs 1.7 crore in winnings. 

Outside of his betting exploits, Drake has also been in the news for his ongoing rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. 

The two artists have exchanged barbs in a heated lyrical duel, culminating in a showdown at the Hollywood Bowl. 

Comedian and actor Seth Rogen, who hosted the event on May 7, declared Kendrick Lamar the victor, citing Drake's defensive lyrics in response to certain allegations as the deciding factor.

Drake's successful bet on India's cricket team highlights his diverse interests and uncanny ability to foresee winning outcomes. 

His involvement in cricket betting, combined with his ongoing musical career and public feuds, continues to keep him in the limelight. As Drake continues to place bets and produce music, his fans and followers remain eager to see what his next move will be.
