Pakistanis are Kidnapping Indians for Ransom All Around the World

In recent months, a disturbing trend has emerged, revealing a series of kidnappings involving Pakistani nationals targeting Indian citizens abroad.

These incidents, occurring in various countries, highlight a growing menace of international crime with serious implications for cross-border relations and the safety of expatriates.

Kidnappings in Turkey: A Harrowing Ordeal

One of the recent incidents took place in Turkey, where three Pakistani asylum seekers were arrested for kidnapping an Indian citizen named Radhakrishnan. Employed at a restaurant in Istanbul,

Radhakrishnan was lured to the city of Edirne with a false job offer. Once there, he was restrained, his hands and feet tied, and his family in India was sent a threatening video demanding a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his safe release.

Turkish police, acting swiftly, managed to apprehend the kidnappers and seized firearms during the raid, ensuring Radhakrishnan's rescue .

Cambodia: Three Weeks of Torment

Another shocking case surfaced in Cambodia, where two Pakistani men, Sabtain Bin Nasir and Sayed Ali Hussain, kidnapped two Indian nationals, Mohammad Saad and Sudit Kumar.

The victims were held in illegal detention for three weeks in Phnom Penh.

The kidnappers had initially lured Saad and Kumar under the pretense of helping them find a location to open an Indian restaurant. Instead, the two were handcuffed, beaten, and blindfolded, with their passports confiscated.

The Pakistani kidnappers demanded $10,000 from each of the victims' families for their release.

Fortunately, the victims were able to alert a staff member of the condominium they were held in, leading to their rescue by Cambodian police  .

A Disturbing Pattern Across Borders

These kidnappings are not isolated incidents. In April, four Pakistani nationals were arrested in Nepal for kidnapping four Sri Lankan citizens, whom they had lured with the promise of job placements in Europe.

The victims' families were asked to pay substantial ransoms for their release .

In another case from 2022, a gang of six Pakistanis kidnapped four Nepalese citizens in Istanbul, torturing them and demanding a ransom of 10,000 Euros from their families.

Turkish police eventually arrested the kidnappers, who had become notorious for such crimes, prompting Turkey to tighten its visa policies for Pakistani nationals .

Escalating Crimes and International Responses

These alarming incidents highlight a broader issue of international criminal activities involving Pakistani nationals.

The frequent occurrence of such kidnappings has led to heightened security measures and stricter visa regulations in countries like Turkey.

The social media backlash against these crimes has been intense, with hashtags like #PakistaniPerverts and #PakistaniGetOut trending in response to the incidents in Turkey .

Implications for the Future

The rising number of kidnappings for ransom involving Pakistani nationals poses significant challenges for international law enforcement and diplomatic relations.

It underscores the need for robust international cooperation to tackle such transnational crimes effectively.

The safety of expatriates and the trust between nations hinge on the swift and decisive action against such criminal networks.

In conclusion, the disturbing trend of Pakistanis kidnapping Indians for ransom underscores a critical issue that demands urgent attention.

Governments and law enforcement agencies worldwide must collaborate to ensure the safety of all expatriates and to dismantle the networks perpetrating these heinous crimes.

The global community must work together to prevent such incidents from escalating further and to safeguard the lives of innocent individuals abroad.
