World’s First Carbon Fiber Passenger Train Unveiled in China
China has introduced a revolutionary advancement in urban transportation with the unveiling of the world’s first passenger train made from carbon fiber. Named Cetrovo 1.0, or the Carbon Star Rapid Transit, this metro train represents a significant leap forward in train technology and sustainability. Located in Qingdao, Shandong province, the Cetrovo 1.0 was developed by Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Co., a subsidiary of the China Railway Construction Corporation. The train has undergone rigorous in-factory testing and is poised to commence operations later this year. Its key innovation lies in the use of carbon fiber composite materials for the main load-bearing structures, including the car body and bogie frame.
