Microplastics in Blood Clots Linked to Heart Attacks: A New Health Concern
In a groundbreaking study published in the journal *eBioMedicine*, Chinese researchers have uncovered a troubling new dimension to the microplastics pollution crisis. Their research has revealed the presence of microplastics in blood clots surgically removed from arteries in the heart and brain, as well as deep veins in the lower legs. This discovery raises serious concerns about the potential health risks posed by microplastics, especially in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The study, which involved thirty participants, found microplastics in 24 out of 30 blood clots examined.
