Ukraine is Not Ready to Compromise with Russia or Cede Any Territory to End the War: President Zelenskyy

Ukraine's unwavering stance against compromising with Russia has been reiterated once again by a senior Ukrainian official, highlighting the nation's resolve to maintain its territorial integrity amidst the ongoing conflict. 

Andriy Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's chief of staff, made it clear that Kyiv is not willing to sacrifice its core values and sovereignty in exchange for peace, despite suggestions from international actors, including U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump.

During a visit to Washington, Yermak addressed reporters, emphasizing Ukraine's commitment to its fundamental principles: independence, freedom, democracy, and territorial integrity. 

This firm stance comes in the face of Russia's aggressive actions, which began with the invasion in February 2022 and the subsequent occupation of significant parts of eastern and southern Ukraine.

Yermak's visit to the U.S. capital is strategically timed ahead of the NATO summit, where Ukraine is expected to be a primary focus.

Nevertheless, he emphasized Ukraine's strategy of lobbying any new U.S. administration to continue the support that has been crucial in their fight against Russia. 

Since the start of the war, the United States has provided over $50 billion in military aid to Ukraine, with additional support continually being announced. 

Most recently, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revealed plans for more than $2.3 billion in new security assistance for Ukraine.

The unwavering bipartisan support in Washington and the continued backing from the American public have been pivotal for Ukraine. 

Polls indicate that a significant majority of Americans still support Ukraine after two years of conflict.
