Gaza Deal Must Allow Fighting Until Israel's War Goals Achieved: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that any Gaza ceasefire deal must allow Israel to continue its military operations until its war objectives are fully met. 

On Sunday, Netanyahu emphasized that the deal must also address critical security concerns, specifically prohibiting the smuggling of weapons to Hamas via the Gaza-Egypt border and ensuring that thousands of armed militants are not permitted to return to northern Gaza.

Netanyahu's firm stance comes amid ongoing conflict and efforts to negotiate a ceasefire. 

He stated that Israel's military operations must persist until all war goals are achieved. 

These objectives include dismantling Hamas's military capabilities and preventing future threats to Israel's security. 

"Any Gaza ceasefire deal must allow for Israel to keep fighting until it achieves its war objectives," Netanyahu asserted in a recent statement.

A crucial element of Netanyahu's conditions for a ceasefire is the prohibition of weapons smuggling to Hamas. 

The Gaza-Egypt border has been a significant route for smuggling arms into Gaza, fueling the conflict and enabling Hamas to maintain its militant activities. 

Netanyahu stressed that any agreement must include strict measures to prevent the flow of weapons into Gaza, thereby reducing the threat posed by Hamas.

Netanyahu also highlighted the importance of preventing the return of armed militants to northern Gaza. 

He expressed concerns that allowing militants to return could reignite violence and undermine efforts to achieve lasting peace. 

"The deal should not allow for thousands of armed militants to return to northern Gaza," Netanyahu stated. 

This condition aims to ensure that any ceasefire leads to a significant reduction in militant activity and a safer environment for both Israelis and Palestinians.

In addition to his security-focused conditions, Netanyahu emphasized the need to maximize the number of live hostages returned.
