From Marine Drive to Wankhede: Watch World Cup Winning Team India's Victory Parade in Mumbai

In a display of national pride and cricketing glory, Team India's T20 World Cup-winning squad arrived in Mumbai to a rapturous welcome.

The victory parade, which took the team from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium, was a spectacle of joy and celebration, drawing thousands of enthusiastic fans.

The triumphant team, led by skipper Rohit Sharma, touched down at Mumbai airport, where they were greeted by a sea of fans.

The celebrations began immediately as the team embarked on an open bus parade along Marine Drive, one of Mumbai's most iconic landmarks.

The road was lined with fans, all eager to catch a glimpse of their heroes and celebrate India's victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The atmosphere was electric, with fans chanting "India, India" and waving flags as the bus made its way through the crowd.

The players, visibly moved by the overwhelming support, acknowledged the fans with waves and smiles.

The parade was a testament to the deep bond between the Indian cricket team and its supporters, who turned out in massive numbers to celebrate this historic achievement.

Before arriving in Mumbai, the team had an important stop in Delhi, where they met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's residence, where the players, coaches, and support staff were congratulated for their remarkable performance.

The Prime Minister praised the team for their dedication, skill, and the unity they displayed throughout the tournament.

After the meeting, the team headed to the ITC Maurya Hotel, where they were treated to a special breakfast prepared in their honor.

This brief respite allowed the players to unwind and share their experiences before continuing their journey to Mumbai.

The journey back to India from Barbados, where the final match was held, was not without its challenges.

Due to the threat of Hurricane Beryl, the team’s return was delayed, and they were stranded in Barbados for two days.

The BCCI arranged a chartered flight to bring the entire team, their families, and media professionals back home safely.

Despite the delays and the anxiety caused by the hurricane, the team's spirits remained high, culminating in a grand celebration upon their return.

On June 29, 2024, India clinched the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in a thrilling final held in Barbados.

The match was a nail-biter, with India securing a seven-run victory under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

The win was a culmination of hard work, strategy, and outstanding performances from the entire team, including key contributions from both seasoned players and emerging stars.

The victory parade culminated at Wankhede Stadium, a venue synonymous with many historic moments in Indian cricket.

Here, outgoing coach Rahul Dravid addressed the crowd, expressing his gratitude for the unwavering support from the fans.

"Will miss this love," Dravid said, acknowledging the deep connection he has forged with the team and the supporters during his tenure.

The celebrations at Wankhede were a fitting end to the day’s events, with speeches, music, and a festive atmosphere that captured the joy of the moment.

Fans and players alike reveled in the shared pride of bringing the T20 World Cup trophy back to India.

The victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium was more than just a celebration of a cricketing triumph; it was a reflection of the unity and passion that defines Indian cricket.

As the team basked in the adulation of their fans, the entire nation celebrated this momentous achievement, looking forward to more such victories in the future.
