Approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, this masterplan aims to transform a 6.6km stretch into the emirate's longest public beach, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable tourism.

The Jebel Ali Beach Development Project is an integral part of the broader Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. 

This plan envisions increasing the size of Dubai’s public beaches by 400 percent, creating more spaces rich in beaches, open areas, and recreational greenery. 

The ultimate goal is to improve the well-being of the city’s residents, fostering a healthy environment and making Dubai the best place in the world to live.

The beach, located within the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary, will be a distinctive recreational destination prioritizing environmental conservation. 

This sanctuary is listed as a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention, underscoring the project's ecological significance. 

The development aims to ensure the conservation and enhancement of local ecosystems and wildlife, including improving habitats for turtles and planting mangrove trees.

Mattar Al Tayer, Dubai’s Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Wellbeing, emphasized the project's commitment to protecting nature. 

The beach will serve as a public attraction while maintaining minimal impact on ecological and biological systems. 

It is designed to enhance the blue carbon footprint, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.

The Jebel Ali Beach will be divided into three distinct areas, each with unique features. 

The Pearl, located at the entrance to Palm Jebel Ali, will be the focal point for beach and leisure activities. 

It will include a beach club, children’s play areas, and various restaurants, cafes, and shops. 

A floating restaurant will be a highlight of this area, offering a unique dining experience.

The second area, the Sanctuary, will focus on environmental conservation, providing a haven for turtles and other natural habitats. 

This zone will host recreational and sporting activities that promote safe exploration of the environment, fostering a deeper connection between visitors and nature.

The third area, the Nest, will be located in the mangrove region. 

It will feature an environmental center dedicated to biodiversity studies and awareness. 

The center will also run turtle rehabilitation and care programs, allowing visitors to learn about and contribute to the conservation of the coastal ecosystem.

In addition to its environmental focus, the beach will offer extensive recreational facilities. 

These include a 2km open swimming beach, a 2.5km diving area, a walking path with viewing platforms, and various sports and water activity areas. 

The infrastructure will cater to all age groups, ensuring an inclusive experience for beachgoers.

The development will be well-connected, featuring a two-lane road, parking for 1,000 vehicles, 80 bicycle racks, a cycle path, and a 5km running track. 

This connectivity ensures easy access for visitors while promoting sustainable modes of transportation.

The architectural design of the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project draws inspiration from natural geometry, using forms from the marine world like coral and turtle shells. 

The Boho style, incorporating locally available elements and materials, will ensure that the structures blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

The Jebel Ali Beach Development Project represents a groundbreaking initiative in the UAE, setting a new standard for ecotourism and environmental conservation. 

By creating a space that balances recreational needs with ecological preservation, Dubai continues to pave the way for sustainable urban development.
