2 Cities Record Over 50°C Temperature, 7 Places Record More Than 49°C: IMD

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), two cities have recorded temperatures exceeding 50°C, while seven other locations have surpassed 49°C.

Scorching Temperatures Across India

Leading the list, Rajasthan's Churu registered a blistering 50.5°C, making it the hottest place in the country. 

Close on its heels, Haryana's Sirsa experienced a searing 50.3°C. 

These figures are not just numbers but a stark reminder of the challenging climatic conditions prevailing in these regions.

Other areas in Rajasthan also faced extreme heat. Sri Ganganagar recorded a high of 49.4°C, while both Phalodi and Pilani reported temperatures of 49°C. 

These readings reflect the widespread impact of the heatwave in Rajasthan, one of India's driest and hottest states.

Delhi's Unbearable Heat

The national capital, Delhi, is not far behind in experiencing the wrath of the summer heat. 

Najafgarh saw temperatures soar to 49.8°C, Narela records 49.9°C and Mungeshpur recorded a close 49.9°C. 

Such extreme temperatures in urban areas like Delhi not only disrupt daily life but also pose serious health risks to its inhabitants.

Uttar Pradesh Also Hit Hard

In Uttar Pradesh, Jhansi faced temperatures reaching 49°C. 

This northern state, known for its hot summers, is grappling with the intense heat that affects agriculture, water supply, and the overall well-being of its residents.
